Myrrh essential oil comes from the resin of a small tree that’s native to the Horn of Africa and that’s related to frankincense. It has been in use for religious and medicinal purposes for millennia, including in ancient Egypt and during Biblical times. Today, it remains one of the most popular essential oils.

We offer two varieties of myrrh essential oil: a steam-distilled essential oil (the current page) as well as a CO2 extracted myrrh essential oil. Both versions of myrrh oil share many of the same therapeutic qualities. However, the two different extraction processes result in oils with slightly different aromas, colors, and consistencies, and choosing one over the other is a matter of personal preference.

The locally known Jatamansi plant grows wild at 10,000 foot elevation in the Himalayas. True Spikenard Essential Oil, produced by rhizomes and roots of the Jatamansi is blue to blue-green right after distillation, thereafter gradually changing into a golden amber.

Palo Santo Essential Oil is extracted from the heartwood of the Bursera Graveolens tree, which belongs to the same botanical family as Frankincense and Myrrh.
